Senior Managment
We've got a new deputy principal (the principal is insane/focuses on the big picture and so takes nothing to do with day to day operations). He's one of those 50 something aging pretty boys who's not so smart but good with the mothers. He's the classic all style no substance management type so far who seems to fire off faux paux like a machine gun (but looks good doing it). I'm fed up dealing with these fools but I guess that's the flip side of international schools, because of the short term contracts you get lots of guys and girls in management who are good sales people so they do well in interview get the job and then leave for another posting just before they are found out (around the 2nd year normally). Disrepair to them! (or maybe I'm just jealous of their (salary) packages! The most annoying thing is he's still better than the guy he replaced.

My favourite bit from the new headmaster this year was when one of the western teachers was caught without any current documents identifying him as being employed/sponsered - this was purely due to an admin screw up and all of us were without them for weeks. He was caught by some policemen, who he appropriately paid off. When news of this got back to the headmaster along with some mention of school culpability (i.e. reimburse the guy the bit he had to fork over to the cops) the head replied 'what was he doing out at 9 ' o ' clock?" issue closed. We salute you!

Most amusing. Quite right what was the rascal doing out past nine anyway? It appears one of our staff members hasn't been paid yet!!! (6 weeks after the start of term). Admin just forgot about it. Nice! It's a pretty basic principle of private schools that management (consumer positions) are only justifiable if it allows you to hire more teachers (producers). It's amazing how people come in from state school systems from Oz, the UK or America and then try and create sinecures for themselves by having meaningless meetings and creating 'systems' to justify their positions. I am of course jealous and just waiting to sell out! Where's that deputy principal position?
